The Natural Storyteller
To bring our literacy week 2017 to a closure, Australian author Ken Spillman conducted a session about storytelling with QAIS MYP students.
Ken shared how he discovered that he had a voice and that his storytelling skills were what made him feel unique. Likewise, Spillman took the opportunity to offer advise to students, encouraging them to explore their passions and their curiosity while writing, and to trust their voices.
QAIS considers MYP students as writers, hence the opportunities the school provides for students to develop their skills through the writers’ workshop. However, receiving advice from experts other than their teachers can certainly inspire students to keep exploring their potential.
