My Experience with Public Speaking
The Rome MMUN conference was truly a great experience. I got to meet and communicate with a lot of student from all across the globe. We shared ideas and knowledge during the exchange and debate, therefore I felt like I truly learned a lot from this experience.
To be specific, I developed my understanding other countries through the students who were the delegates for those countries. In their opening speeches, students mentioned what people in those countries believed, what they have struggled with, and what they would like to change. I also understood more about cultures and traditions of different countries when chatting with other delegates in my conference.
However, I still feel that I could’ve done more and communicate more of my ideas to others. When the conference first started, I was quite shy and didn’t know what and how to exchange my ideas with the others, but as I spent more time in the conference, it felt more like a huge community. The students there were very welcoming and talented they have very good ideas and differentiated personalities, it was both really fun and challenging to work with them.
Speaking in public can be a very scary experience, but I am happy to say that now I have done this in a situation that is different from QAIS students, in our community meetings. Now I have spoken in front of almost a hundred of very smart students, and this is what makes me say that the MMUN conference was awesome.
